Hawker Place Physiotherapy and Pilates offers sports oriented programs specifically tailored to your individual needs. The key to a successful program is working in collaboration with your physiotherapist to achieve your own goals. This will involve in-room treatment, an individualised home exercise program and return to sport training.
You will have access to a large array of Pilates equipment including reformers, split pedal chairs, trapeze table and more. We also have 2 spacious exercise areas, housing strength and conditioning equipment and a squat rack. Our physiotherapists have experience with a range of sports including running, triathlon, AFL, touch football, power lifting, dance, mountain biking, hiking and more.

As we age our bones naturally lose minerals and weaken. Osteoporosis is a condition where mineral loss and the break down of healthy bone structure is excessive, resulting in bones becoming fragile and brittle.
Current research has shown the best methods for managing and preventing osteoporosis involve weight bearing exercise, strength training, and the intake of vitamin D, calcium and magnesium other important minerals. In order to get the most out of your exercise it should be progressive, regular and varied. The mechanical pull of the muscles on the bones during this type of exercise encourages the bone cells to lay down more bone to strengthen the area. Here at Hawker Place our physiotherapists are trained to work with you to find the best type of exercise program suited to your needs and interests to help you fight osteoporosis.
