Grant Sutherland

Grant Sutherland is the principal physiotherapist and a partnered owner of Hawker Place Physiotherapy & Pilates.

Grant has been in the Health and Fitness industry for over 15 years, working across Strength and Conditioning, Exercise Science, Pilates and now Physiotherapy.

Grant began his career in the industry as a Strength and Conditioning coach soon moving into Exercise Therapy at Solar Springs Health Retreat in Bundanoon.

After several years of servicing a diverse client base across fitness, rehabilitation, functional assessment and group classes he was promoted to the Director of Health and Fitness for the retreat, managing a team of experts over a 6 year term.

Grant’s major qualifications include a Diploma of Fitness, Bachelor of Science (Biochemistry/Human Physiology), Masters of Exercise Science and in 2012, Grant moved to Canberra to pursue his long held ambition in Physiotherapy and has recently graduated with a Masters from the University of Canberra.

Grant’s passion lies within Strength and Conditioning and he is driven by the human body’s remarkable abilities. This has compelled Grant to compete in the Australian Strongman titles, and pursue his own limits through strongman and power-lifting goals.

Originally from the small country town of Gunnedah, Grant now sees himself in Canberra for the long term; enjoying its mix of urban and regional influences that allow him to pursue his active outdoor lifestyle with his partner and their two Great Danes.

Going forward Grant’s goals are to develop his career under the experienced wing of Jennifer whilst contributing to the evolution of the practice’s future.
