At Hawker Place Physiotherapy & Pilates, it is a requirement to attend an initial private assessment with one of our physiotherapists prior to attending a group class. At this initial session, we will assess your needs and abilities to ensure that your following sessions can be tailored to your progress goals. Additionally, we will familiarise you with many of the foundational exercises that will be explored during the subsequent group classes. 

Our group classes use varying techniques and equipment to ensure that each participant can explore the full range of therapeutic Exercise options. Class types will alternate weekly between our two studios, either a reformer lead session or mat work class which utilises multiple therapeutic Classes are made up of a mixture of floor work classes and equipment classes. Everyone will get to have a go at doing both. Floor work classes consist of exercises performed in sitting, kneeling, lying or standing positions, and often incorporate specifically designed apparatus that provide graduated resistance to movement. Equipment classes involve machines and equipment that provide added challenges to resistance and stability.

Classes can help with;

  • Osteoarthritis of the Knee or Hip
  • Lower Back Pain
  • Postural Strengthening
  • Rehab or Prehab
  • or any number of other non-acute ailments you might have.

Due to our small class sizes, your instructor will be able to personally modify your exercises and give you individual feedback as you progress. You will have plenty of opportunities to ask questions and get the most out of each class.
