Dumb Waiter

By:

The Dumb Waiter exercise is useful to help improve external rotation of the shoulder or glenohumeral joint (GHJ). Moving the upturned palms and forearms outwards and inwards from the center position opens the GHJ as well as moving nearby joints of the collarbone and chest wall. This helps alleviate the stiffness and pain associated with prolonged hunching, eg. after spending a long time using a computer.
